Privacy
Plain-English version. Last updated October 2026.
What we store
- Your name, email, and a scrambled (hashed) version of your password - never the password itself.
- Your group's name, members' names and emails, and the starting addresses and choices you enter.
- Rounds, votes, and the dinners you rate (scores, totals, notes).
- Simple visit counts: which page was opened, when, and the approximate city/region/country that Cloudflare provides. We don't store IP addresses - just an anonymous code that changes every day, so we can count visitors.
How it's used
- Only to run vote2dine: build restaurant lists, send voting links and results, and show your history.
- Emails come from our address only for your group's rounds, join requests, and password resets.
- We don't sell or share your information, and there are no ads or third-party trackers.
Services we use
- Restaurant data from OpenStreetMap; addresses are looked up with the US Census and OpenStreetMap geocoders.
- When "Let AI help pick" is on, the restaurant shortlist (not your personal details) is sent to Google Gemini to help choose.
- Cloudflare carries the site's traffic securely (HTTPS).
Your choices
- Want your account or group deleted? Email [email protected] and we'll remove it.
- If someone added your email to a group and you don't want the emails, reply to any vote2dine email or contact us.
